Song Names -> Song Titles Not Used as Lyrics -> Latest Entries

Some songs have titles that aren't used in the lyrics, and end up becoming better known for their lyrics than their title. Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" is better known for the refrain "Everybody must get stoned" than it is for the title.

The Moody Blues Question This is a tricky one. The word "questions" appears a least twice, but there is not the singular "question" anywhere. - Frosty The Cat
Bastille Good Grief Following strict song-titling logic, this song should be called "Watching Through My Fingers" or "I Miss You". However, I can see where the band is coming from; this is an upbeat song about mourning a friend's death, so "Good Grief" is a very appropriate title. - Jonathan S.
Kings of Leon  Fans "Fans" isn't anywhere in the title - Jack
Vicki Lawrence The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia Each chorus in this song begins with "That's the night that the lights went out in Georgia." But the exact title phrase (with the word "THAT" absent) nowhere occurs in the lyrics. - Karen Smith

When In Rome The Promise The word "promise" is preceded by "I" through the song, but "promise" is never preceded by "the" - Isac
