Sorry to say this to S.G's #1 fan, but I own both books and it is "vampire Lestat" which Savage Garden comes from, not "interview with a vampire". So everybody else is right after all! :) Submitted by: Ben S
unlike sg's number one fan, i know the origins, as it is said in many of the interviews under which darren had to do when in the band, and i have read all of anne rice's novels, so i do know which one it came from and i can confirm it was from "The Vampire Lestat". When this song first came out it played on the radio all the time and I was certain that they were saying that they wanted to live like cannibals. I thought it was really sick that they were actually singing about their desire to become cannibals, until a friend of mine explained to me (after she stopped laughing) that they were saying 'animals', not cannibals. But frankly, I feel that wanting to live like animals is almost as weird. Strange song.

I don't even know where to start with this one. Last time I checked animals couldn't talk and therefore it is difficult for them to lie. Children lie all the time just for fun! That really didn't make me think either, so I'm not sure what decision I am supposed to come to.
