In 2001, she voiced the character "Seeiah" in SSX Tricky, in which she co-starred with fellow musician Bif Naked. Just like Dee Snider's previously mentioned video game role, Macy Gray's character didn't return in the 2003 sequel.
Having Her Videos Banned By MTV and Much Music - Madona
Madona's videos for Justify My Love and Erotica were banned from Much Music because of their sexually explicit content. MTV did in fact ban both of these videos but then its ruling was reversed and both videos were restricted to night time arings.
On her 2006 tour Madonna did some provocative acts, as always. On the hit "Live to Tell" she is hoisted and strapped on a blue cross sculpture and wears a fake crown of thorns in imitation of the execution of Jesus Christ. This caused severe controversy all over the world. In Rome the Vatican and the local Muslim council wrote an open letter to her asking her not to reenact the Crucifixion scene. Madonna wrote back inviting Pope Benedict XIV to see her do it at the show. She did it anyway. After the tour ended it was figured to be the highest grossing tour revenue by a female star. She also said that the cross scenario was done to raise awareness of poor African children. Wellll....

Being accused of "faking it" at her concerts - Madonna
As Elton John was accepting the award for "best live act" at the MTV Europe Music Awards he blurted out "since when is lipsyncing live?"? as a response to the fact that Madonna was nominated in the same category as he was. Madonna's reps fired back saying that all of her shows are 100% live and that there wasn't any lipsyncing at any of her concerts. Elton later appologized for the offensive remark.
Some Colorado fans are upset after Madonna used prop guns during her performance in a community that is still raw from a mass shooting at a local theater and a violent summer that includes the unsolved slaying of a 10 year old girl. Madonna's second act in her show at the Pepsi Center in Denver featured the singer using a prop gun to shoot a masked gunman with images of blood splattering on a large screen behind the stage. It was unclear if the song was "Gang Bang" with lyrics "shot my lover in the head" because Madonna had used that set with that song previously in other cities. Regardless, the audience was shocked and angered with many picking up their things and leaving while others shouted "Aurora". Madonna's press agent Liz Rosenberg said that there was no way to eliminate the scene because it is an integral part of the show. Madonna has not apologized.
Madonna is known for speaking her mind, even if it means tongue-lashing her own fans on occasion. During a sound check at Chile's National Stadium the Material Girl spotted smokers and immediately voiced her displeasure, "There are people smoking here. No smoking!" Madonna scolded her Santiago followers. "If you are going to smoke cigarettes. I'm not going to do my show." But according to a video an an account in Santiago's El Mercurio newspaper, the encounter escalated as the fans continued to puff away. The show went on but Madonna was fuming mad. Fans have been divided over the right to smoke, some for and some against Madonna. Madonna views the smokers actions as disrespectful but the smokers say it's their country and she should respect that.

A Russian Deputy Premier, Dmitry Rogozin, has attacked Madonna via Twitter for supporting the punk band Pussy Riot. He tweeted this week that, "every former w. wants to give lectures on morality when she grows old. Especially during foreign tours." The w. apparently stands for whore. He added. "Either take off your cross or put on your knickers." Liz Rosenberg, Madonna's spokeswoman, had this to say about Rogozin: "Maybe he and Elton can form a Madonna fan club" which alludes to a long-standing feud Madonna has with Elton over public comments about each other. Meanwhile, Pussy Riot is facing years in prison if convicted of "Hooliganism" and "moral corruption" for an incident at a Russian Orthodox church where they sang an Anti-Putin song. Madonna has said that she would "pray for them" and has Pussy Riot written on her bare back for support!
France's far-right National Front said it plans to sue Madonna after the singer showed a video at a Paris concert that contained an image of the party's leader with a swastika on her forehead! National Front spokesman Alain Vizier said that the party would file a complaint in French court for "insults", including a segment of Madonna's concert where she mocks party leader Marine Le Pen with images of morphing faces, one with a Hitler moustache!
Madonna has finally apologised to Australian fans for another no-show. Once again, the singer has cited commitments to her four children as the reason she will not extend her world tour to include Australia. The belated announcement, six weeks after the tour was mysteriously axed, comes on the day her Material Girl clothing line is released to Australian stores. The tour would have been her first visit to Australia in 20 years. In a contrite audio message on her website, Madonna acknowledges the anger coming from Australian fans after bypassing this market for a fifth consecutive world tour. "To all of my Australian fans I am really and truly sorry to have disappointed you," she said. "That's something I don't feel very good about. I know the last time I was on tour I missed Australia as well. I can promise you in my heart of hearts it was my intention to come again, but like the last time my children are my first priority."
Madonna voiced hope recently for three Russian rockers on trial for performing a "punk prayer" against Vladimir Putin- that they will be released soon. Two weks before Putin's return to the presidency in a March election, the Pussy Riot band staged their political protest in Moscow's main cathedral singing "Virgin Mary drive Putin away!" Three members were arrested and have spent 5 months in captivity. If convicted they face 7 years in prison for "hooliganism". Madonna stated "Obviously I believe in the freedom of speech and am against censorship, so I hope that the judge is lenient with them and that they are freed soon" she told the Associated Press during a concert tour of Russia.

Although it has never been confirmed, a lot of "fans" of Mamas and the Papas maintain that Cass Elliot aphyxiated on a big sandwich that got stuck in her throat. The official cause of her death was a heart attack due to her enormous weight.

Mariah Carey will join "American Idol" as a judge next season for a rumored $18 million contract for 1 year with a renewal option. The show, which saw previous judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez exit, will be back on the air for Season 12 in January 2013.
5 minutes into their season-opening news conference in Pasedean recently, "American Idol" judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj were disagreeing about their disagreements! "We're professionals. Have you ever had an argument with someone you've worked with?" Minaj said sfter repeated questions about her reported fued with Carey. "This was sort of one-sided." said Carey, wearing a queenly smile. "No, it wasn't," snapped Minaj. Fox network executive Mike Darnell was asked if the clash is authentic. He said there was a lot of musical passion in the group of judges which also includes Keith Urban and Randy Jackson. "The fighting is what it is," Carey said. "This is 'American Idol'. It's bigger than all that." "American Idol" begins its 12th season Jan 16, 2013. The "feud" continues...
A video leaked by TMZ shows a full-blown pop diva showdown between judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on the set of "American Idol". The heated argument derailed auditions in Charlotte, NC. The argument started over a contestant's performance with Minaj calling Mariah "disrespectful" to which the pop diva called Minaj a "Bitch". Minaj went on to threaten Carey saying she was going to "knock her out". Poor Keith Urban was trapped between the two and with help from Randy Jackson and producers tried to calm things down. "When the police raided Kieth Richard's Redlands digs, they were forced to deal with a very naked, blitzed Marianne. Would have loved to been a fly on the wall, as Mick's girlfriend tried to explain why she had (rumor has it) a Mars Bar in her "thingee"!
After the death of his friend and bandmate Kenny MacLean in 2008, Mark Holmes decided to reunite with his former bandmates Chris Steffler and Sergio Galli so that he could keep his word to Kenny that reuniting the band was important.
In a Now video interview Mark revealed that the story behind his band's hit single "It Doesn't Really Matter" was one of a very scary experience that he had in England when "The Troubles" were going on between England and Northern Ireland. Mark was on his way to Heathrow airport in London from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, where he's from when he got a very nasty surprise when a bomb went off in front of the car in front of him. This is where he got the idea to write It Doesn't Really Matter and the line "They fight in England and Northern Ireland the police they try to hold us still. They can bleed us and they can feed us but you know they'll never control our will" maintaining that the "politically correct thing wasn't a part of what they did."
Mark Holmes the lead singer of Platinum Blonde always has a desire to keep his band up to date with current trends.[br] Shortly before Kenny passed away he had prepositioned to reunite the band. Mark said 'that's fine but I won't do it unless we have new music." [br] [br] The reason for wanting new music is Mark's desire to keep Platinum Blonde's music current and up-to-date with all of the latest musical trends such as electronica and all of the latest musical innovations.
During his acceptance speech into the Canadian Music and Brodcast Industry Hall Of Fame Mark broke down after mentioning his good friend and bandmate Kenny MacLean who had died two years earlier. MacLean had spearheaded an initiative to get Platinum Blonde back together. Mark would always decline but on 11/21/08 he finally said he would do it. The band agreed to get back together on 11/24/08 but Kenny was found dead in his recording studio. Mark said "This is very hard to talk about.... I miss him so much. We decided because of Kenny that we would get back together. It was very difficult. He always wanted us to get back together. It was great to play last night and we wish that Kenny was there."
Chris Steffler told the story of the day that Mark got a face full of beer bottle from a guy who turned out to be the boyfriend of a girl who was talking to and hanging out with him earlier in the week. Chris saw this and wondered how it was that Mark was still upright then he fell over. Mark was performing the next night with a shiner; black eye.
Mark played the role of Adam Dalton on the TV series T and T in the episode Mugshot as a rocker and musical misfit who accidently becomes mixed up in a criminal conspiracy. Sergio Galli, Kenny MacLean, and Sasha Takuska also guest starred as Adam's band.
Mark became involved in the David Foster's Northern Lights charity single Tears Are Not Enough for famine relief in Ethiopia. England and the United States followed suit with Bob Geldof's Live Aid single Do They Know It's Christmas Time and Quincy Jones' USA For Africa's single We Are The World.

An out-and-proud lesbian (practically) from the start, Ms. Etheridge made a voluntary decision to not use gendered terms for the subjects of her famous love ballads. She claims that she did not do this out of shame, but because she did not wish to alienate listeners so that anyone, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, could relate to her music, which seems to have worked given her large fan base.
Metallica has made a public service video as part of a law enforcement publicity blitz to try to catch a man wanted in the death of a Virginia Tech student who disappeared after one of the heavy metal band's concerts.
In 2000 Metallica Filed a lawsut against Napster, an internet file sharing service and banned many users from the site for downloading their music for free. This caused a major backlash with fans that labeled them "corporate sellouts"
NBC says that "The Voice" for Season 3 will team singer Michael Buble with country singer Blake Shelton as advisor for Coach Shelton's team of contestants when the singing contest returns on September 10, 2012. No other advisors have been announced for the three other coaches: Chritina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green , and Adam Levine.
It was rumored that the INXS singer, who was found hanging on a belt at a Ritz-Carlton hotel in Sydney on November 22, 1997, had strangled himself while committing a sex act. The official cause of death was suicide, but a lack of a suicide note and the fact that he was nude at the time of death suggested he died of "auto-erotic asphyxiation". Many of his closest relatives, including his brother, believed that the sex act caused him to accidentally hang himself.
A federal judge rejected a novel legal argument that would have allowed Michael Jackson's mother and business partner to profit from a line of merchandise separate from the late star's estate. The judge issued a permanent injunction barring Canadian entrepreneur Howard Mann from trading on the singer's name. Katherine Jackson was not named in the suit brought about by the executors of Jackson's estate, but she gave Mann's projects her blessing. They have already published a book and calendar without the estate's authorization. Mann planned to set up various domains using the singer's name or initials "M.J." for merchandise sales.
ABC has aquired the television rights to Spike Lee's upcoming documentary "Bad25". Lee had previously collaborated with MJ with the intent to document his creativity when the album 'Bad" followed "Thriller". Lee teamed with Jackson's estate and Legacy/Epic Records to search the archives for never-before-seen footage and song materials. "Bad25" is one of two major projects pegged to the 25th anniversary of the 1987 hit-filled album.
I don't think this is humorous but in the late 90s the first disc of MJ's HIStory Book 1 was issued separately as "Michael Jackson - Vol. 1-Greatest Hits History". The liner notes has a whole page narrated by Elizabeth Taylor championing MJ's good deeds, various photos of Michael live and on videos and meeting with famous stars like Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger and photo-ops at the White House with every President from Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton. AAANNNNDDD... there are MANY statements, dedications and vows to help all the children everywhere. I mean these statements of devotion by Michael himself - at a time the pedophile allegations had already cropped up - doesn't that seem creepy to you? The songs are terrific but the booklet is peppered with the children references ( and there are a LOT ) and that is even more spooky than the "Thriller"! I ain't laughing to this.
Was long suspected of pedophilia activity, before being tried and acquitted. Other bizarre behavior includes dangling a baby from a third story balcony in Germany. And mysteries include his diminishing nose and lightening skin color. Any or all of these things may be at least as well known as his music.
Former Monkee and singer-songwriter Michael Nesmith was just a boy when his mother patented the popular correction fluid, which ensured him a privileged upbringing and, by virtue of being an only child, made him the heir to that fortune.
Ponders Xmas Classic and Future Version - Midge Ure of Ultravox
Every time Midge Ure hears the Band Aid classic "Do They Know It's Christmas?" he marvels at all the song has accomplished. Ure, who co-wrote the song with Bob Geldof to raise funds for famine relief in Africa in 1984, is amazed to hear the song on the radio today after 28 years, as a Xmas classic. Ure, who is planning a short US tour next year to test the waters for a full-fledged reunion of his band Ultravox, said he never dreamed that the Band Aid song would endure to this day. The song featured everyone from Sting to Bono. With a world in crisis, Ure believes that a future song along the lines of "Do They Know It's Christmas?" might be made to draw awarness to global warming, nuclear proliferation, global terrorism, and a range of other issues in danger of destroying our world.

A man clutching a pair of scissors was arrested recently after police said he tried to force his way into the LA home of Miley Cyrus. An employee at the home called police at 4am after the man came to the door and said he was a friend of the 19 year old singer-actress. The suspect then repeatedly threw himself against an outside wall as if he were trying to break into the home. Cyrus was not home at the time.
When Miley Cyrus cut off the long hair her fans had become used to, she took some heat. She has said and tweeted repeatedly, though, that she is pleased with the new punk-pixie look and was sticking to it. Short hair turned out to be a trend in 2012, with Alicia Keys, Rihanna, and Anne Hathaway all ending the year with much shorter locks than they started with...
A judge has granted Miley Cyrus a three-year civil restraining order against a man convicted of trespassing at her home in LA. The stay-away order was granted against Jason Luis Rivera by Superior Court Judge William D. Stewart. The 40 year old Rivera was convicted in Oct 2012 of trespassing at the singer's home and was sentenced to 18 mos. in jail...
Milli Vanilli did not sing a single note on their album Girl You Know It's True. In concert they would just lipsync to the recording and sometimes the recording got stuck, thus revealing them as frauds. As a result, they had their grammy for best new artist revoked.
Mindy McCready, who hit the top of the country charts before personal problems sietracked her career, died February 17, 2013 in Arkansas in an apparent suicide. She was 37. The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that McCready was found dead at a residence in Heber Springs from what appears to be a single, self-inflicted gunshot to the head. An autopsy is pending. McCready had attempted suicide in July 2005, overdosed in September 2008, and slit her wrists in December 2008. In May 2010 she was hospitalized briefly after police responded to an overdose at a home owned by her mother. McCready's longtime boyfriend David Wilson killed himself last month on the same porch police found Mindy. She had entered a court-ordered rehab earlier this month after her father told a judge that she was no longer taking care of herself or her children and was abusing drugs and alcohol. She is most remembered for her 1996 hit "Guys Do It All the Time" about male chauvinism and her 1996 album "Ten Thousand Angels" sold 2 million copies.
Mindy McCready's time in Nashville was filled with music, and her memorial service in Music City reflected that. Old friends Bryan White, Lorrie Morgan, and Bekka Braunlett sang for McCready and family members spoke about her difficulties and triumphs during the hour long rememberance at the Cathedral of the Incarnation. The Nashville memorial attended by 200 comes two weeks after her funeral in her home town of Fort Myers, Fla. McCready, 37, shot herself last month of the front porch of her home she once shared with fiance David Wilson, in Heber Springs, Ark.
The pursuit of hackers who audaciously stole and published online credit reports on First Lady Michelle Obama and nearly two-dozen other politicians and celebrities including singers Britney Spears, Jay-Z, and Beyonce remain a persistant threat. So far, the hackers who posted to a Russian website recently have eluded both identification and capture by the US AG, FBI, and the SF-based Interent Company Cloudflare. Celebrity social security numbers and other private information have been made public for anyone to view or use. Other big names include Mitt Romney, Donald Trump, and Tiger Woods. Lady Gaga stated that the intrusions were "disturbing" but confidently proclaimed that she was busy "with more pressing matters" of her career and launch of her next CD "ARTPOP" due in May 2013!!!
On the albums "Days of Future Passed", "In Search of the Lost Chord", "On a Threashold of a Dream", "To Our Childrens, Childrens, Children", "Question of Balance", and "Strange Times" drummer Greame Edge would recite a poetic monolouge on the album.
Being the first band ever to contractually retire - Motley Crue
Motley Crüe signed a contract preventing them from ever touring together as Motley Crue again after their "Final Tour".
Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, and Nikki Six were all known to be alcoholics and drug addicts who loved the groupies that hung around. Vince Neil said during a BTM interview that he got into rock and roll because of the booze and the chicks!
This band started out as just heavy metal but punk rock had just come into own. Motorhead added the velocity (speed) and some attitude of punk to its loud metal sound, creating the fusion hybrid style of speed metal (AKA "thrash"). To this day metal heads, punks, critics and music pundits debate on what to label this music. Singer/bassist Lemmy says it's just rock'n'roll. Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer and countless other bands owe a huge debt to Motorhead. Big time.
