Lyrics with debatable meanings - U2
U2 claim that all their songs are about politics and religion. That's definitely true of some of their songs, but they have others that seem dirty, hard to understand, or both, like "Vertigo" and "Elevation".

Not So Overt Hymn - U2
Both times I have seen these Irish rockers in concert they always played their #1 hit "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". That song doesn't mention Jesus Christ by name but the lyrics are peppered with references to Him (ex: "Kingdom Come", and "carried the cross and all the shame", etc.). The ENTIRE audience sings all the words and waves their hands in unison. This crowd includes Christians as well as Jews, Muslims, people of other religions and even agnostics and atheists. A pretty unique and ironic situation to see : )
