Comments: 1982's "Square Pegs" was recorded before the 1982 - 83 season minor hit CBS TV-show, by the New Wave group The Waitresses. But of course would be forever known as the "Theme From Square Pegs" after being adopted (or at least part of it, as the later song "I'll Be There For You" by The Rembrandts would be for NBC's "Friends") as the opening theme for the TV show about the awkward teenage years (the TV Show had moderate success, but CBS cancelled it after one season not having faith in it's ability to have staying power -- probably a move that CBS regrets to this day since "Square Pegs" introduced the world to a future powerhouse actress named, Sarah Jessica Parker -- yes, that Sarah Jessica Parker later known for "Sex And The City" was on "Square Pegs" as a dorky and nerdy teenaged girl).

Comments: "I Know What Boys Like" was a minor (#62 on the charts) hit for the group known as The Waitresses from the summer of 1982. The Waitresses were a new wave/pop group formed in 1978 in Akron, Ohio and achieved moderate success after moving to New York City in the early 1980's. The Waitresses were led by Chris Butler and the original lineup (and the one heard on their most successful songs) included Patty Donahue, Dan Klayman, Mars Williams, Tracy Warmworth and Billy Ficca. "I Know What Boys Like" casts lead singer Patty Donahue in the role of a tease with the boys. Patty Donahue who also was known as Patty Darling was born Patricia J. Donahue on March 29, 1956. Unfortunately for many fans of The Waitresses and Patty Donahue, she would die of lung cancer on December 9, 1996 at the age of 40 years.
