Original Lyrics: Cupid, draw back your bow.

Story about this misheard lyric by: Paul Scott When I was a kid, I loved "Star Trek- The Original Series". I also like this song that was on the radio on the way to school. Somehow, I entwined the two and thought for years that Cupid was flying around at warp speed to bring love to the Universe. It wasn't until my late 20's that someone finally corrected me. |

Misrhymed Lyrics:
"Twistin' The Night Away"
The Misrhymed Lyrics: Dancin' with the girl in black
See her movin' up and back Man, there ain't nothing like twistin' the night away Why They're Misrhymed: Pronounced 'Man there ain't nothin' lahk'. I love it. Sam had the jump on the whole Ebonics thing, and used it to avoid obvious banal and sexist choices like 'crack' and 'sack' and 'stacked'

Songs That Open With Their Titles:
"Shake"
Opening Lines: Shake! Shake! Shake! Shake!
Comments: "Shake" was a 1965 Top Ten hit for Sam Cooke that was released and became a hit posthumously for one of the best soul/pop artists of his generation. It was posthumous because on December 11, 1964 Sam Cooke was shot dead by a hotel manager in Los Angeles, California in still mysterious circumstances. Whatever really happened, Sam Cooke died way too young for his vocal prowess when he was only 33 years old.

| "Another Saturday Night"
Opening Lines: Another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody, I have some money 'cause I just got paid.
Comments: "Another Saturday Night" was a Top Five pop hit for Sam Cooke from the summer of 1963. It would later get remade (and very decently) by Cat Stevens in the 1970's.

"Wonderful World"
The Lyrics: Don't know much about history;
Don't know much biology; Don't know much about a science book; Don't know much about the French I took. (also) Don't know much about geography; Don't know much trigonometry; Don't know much about algebra; Don't know what a slide rule is for. Why: This ringtone would doom a candidate at an interview for a teaching position.
