"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"
Misheard Lyrics: Hasta la Vista
Original Lyrics: In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
|
Story about this misheard lyric by: Dillon Not really a misheard lyric, but more an odd misunderstanding. My kid sister was listening to this song in the car with me and my mom, when her eyes went wide and she exclaimed 'That's what the Terminator says! Innagoddadavita, Baby!' We cracked up, man. |
"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: In-a-gadda-da-vida...
Why They're Nonsensical: Exactly what does this mean? [Yes, I know of the story (urban legend?) behind this song - it was originally called 'In The Garden Of Eden', until the lead singer came into one of the rehearsals stoned on acid and slurred the words, and the rest is history...]

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"
Opening Lines: In-a-gadda-da-vida, honey, don't you know that I love you? In-a-gadda-da-vida, baby, don't you know that I'll always be true?

"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"
The Made Up Words: In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Comments: There is no meaning to this phrase. I have asked everyone that i know and it seems to be a title that was made up by the band. I've tried to find a meaning for about 25 years now and I was sure someone else would have posted it. Since no one has I thought I would finally do it. [ed. I have heard it was the singer's inebriated jumble of "In the Garden of Eden."]

"Inna Gadda da Vida"
The Lyrics: Inna gadda da vida.
Why: Pseudo-Romance-language gibberish meaning "In a garden of life."
