Story about this misheard lyric by: Greg Campbell Years ago before we all went down to see Volunteer Jam, we had a party. A friend brought a friend who claimed to be the number one CDB fan. Then he sang along to this song, which was blasting. But we all heard the wrong lyrics. Anyway, we laughed so hard it hurt. I never claim to know an artist and their lyrics, and then sing them to hardcore fans. Unless you are absolutly positive your lyrics are correct, you will never live it dowm. |

"Uneasy Rider"
The Funny Lyrics: Would you believe this man has gone as far
As tearin' Wallace stickers off the bumpers of cars And he voted for George McGovern for President Why They're Funny: This has to be one of the funniest songs ever written. Just the way Charlie delivers those lines is hilarious enough.

"Uneasy Rider"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: Just when I thought I'd get out of there with my skin
These five big dudes come strollin' in With this one old drunk chick and some fella with green teeth.... Now, the last thing I wanted Was to get in a fight In Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night Especially when there was three of them and only one of me Why They're Nonsensical: Wait...first you said there was five guys, plus a drunk chick (okay, she's probably not fighting) and a fella with green teeth. Then you say there's three? Five (six, really) or three? which is it?

"Devil Came Back To Georgia"
The Misrhymed Lyrics: Devil's dream is that he can win
But Johnny's the best that's ever been Why They're Misrhymed: Depends on pronunciation, though. I rhyme 'win' with 'sin', but I pronounce 'been' as a homonym of 'Ben'. Feel free to add how you pronounce the two words, editor.
[Ed's note: How kind of you :) Assuming this is a follow up that I have never heard, given it is the Charlie Daniels Band, I would assume that 'been' would be pronounced 'bin', at least that's how I hear it in 'redneck speak'] Submitted by: Jeffrey Hope

The Dated Lyrics: "Would you believe this man has gone as far
As tearing Wallace stickers off the bumpers of cars? And he voted for George McGovern for President. Why They're Dated: Neither Wallace or McGovern has run since at LEAST the '70s.
