Inappropriate Lyrics:
"The Worst That Could Happen"
The Inappropriate Lyrics: Male Singer: 'If He Loves You More Than Me
Maybe It's the Best Thing for You, But It's the Worst That Can Happen to Me' Why They're Inappropriate: The grammar is way off, as any junior high teacher can
affirm. The line should be: 'If He Loves You More Than I' The current lyric has the male singer lamenting that he is loved (by the other man) less than the woman in the song. He is suggesting a bisexual relationship of some kind. Submitted by: Karen Boyd

Bad Grammar in Song Lyrics:
"The Worst That Could Happen"
The Lyrics: Baby, If he loves you more than me,
Maybe, it's the best thing Baby, it's the best thing for you, But it's the worst that could happen to me. Why: It should be "If he loves you more than I," but for the rhyme, they use "me," which implies something completely different.

Upbeat Songs With Depressing Lyrics:
"Worst that Could Happen"
The Lyrics: If he loves you more than me...
Why: He is actually saying 'if the guy loves ME more than he loves HER.' To say what he means correctly he'd say "If he loves you more than I.." But then that wouldn't rhyme, would it? Write it off to artistic license. But I'll always laugh at it!

The Lyrics: I'll never get married. Never get married, you know that's not my scene. But a girl like you needs to be married, I've known all along you couldn't live forever in between.
Why: This is about a guy who sees his woman getting married and for good. He vows not to get married because of it.
