Story about this misheard lyric by: Wendy Carpenter For years, whenever I sang along with this song, I sang 'loved to love' in the above line, never questioning that that was the real lyrics. Then once, while searching lyrics sites, I saw this song, entirely by accident (not looking for it), and noticed 'love grew up' as the last words of the above lines. Since then, listening closely to the song does indeed enable me to hear 'love grew up'. But without seeing the lyrics site, I probably would never have realized that was the real lyrics, perhaps because one doesn't ordinarily think of love as something that 'grows up'. |
