There are at least two different kinds of misheard lyrics. There are those you could go years thinking to be the real lyrics without seeing anything amiss about them, like the second misheard version above. Then there are those where you might think 'It really sounded like that', but you know from the start that the song coldn't possibly say that. The first misheard version above is in that category. I really thought it sounded like that the first time I ever listened closely to the song. But being sure that I misheard it, I listened closely repeatedly and finally singled in on an assurrance that the second misheard version was the real lyrics to that line. And so I thought for years until I saw the lyrics on a web site.
