Jokes:

I was once at a zoo when they had a section of mandrills. For any who don't know, mandrills are the largest members of the Old World Monkey family. Within that family they are more specifically in a Tribe with baboons, to which they bear a strong resemblance. When a zoo staff member walked by, I said to her, "Do you know if any of these animals are siblings? If so, we could be looking at the Mandrill Sisters here!"

Song Titles Not Used as Lyrics:

Song Name
Comments & Submitter Name
"Fast Lanes and Country Roads"The lyrics include the phrases "fast lane" and "country road" in the lines "I'm ready to trade the fast lane for a country road" and "And trade this fast lane for a country road", but never the plural forms and never connected with "and". For a long time, I knew this song only as the song that goes, "This can't go on forever/I need a Sunday drive". - William Ransom

Funniest Song Lyrics:

"One Of A Kind Pair Of Fools"
The Funny Lyrics:
One of a kind, a pair of fools.
Two women one man's been lying to.
You thought you were the only one, I thought I was too.
We're one of a kind, a pair of fools.
Why They're Funny:
The humor here is most concentrated in the title, more than in the lyrics. That's because the nearest the title comes to appearing in the lyrics is with a comma and a second occurrence of the article "a" inserted into what is otherwise the title line. So in the lyrics that technically clears up the ambiguity of the (presumably unintentional) double entendre in the title. As for that double entendre in the title, The best way I can elucidate its humor is to say -- Better a kind pair of fools than an unkind pair of fools! Enough said about the humor! I learned of this song's existence recently when I was at an establishment that had an apparent radio broadcast playing on little modules throughout the place. I call it an "apparent radio broadcast", citing the old adage if "If it looks like a duck and acts like a duck, --". In these new fangled days of everything from podcasts to EarPods or whatever else folks listen to music on, I could seem old-fashioned for assuming anything that looks like a radio broadcast and sounds like a radio broadcast IS a radio broadcast. Anyhow, the modules I was hearing the music on, when they are working optimally, display the title of the song playing. So I was struck right away with the ludicrous ambiguity in the title. By the time I heard the lyrics, I was still laughing about the double entendre, despite its being resolved in the lyrics by a comma and an article. But the comma can be overlooked since one doesn't hear punctuation in lyrics. So as far as I'm concerned, I can still say "Funny Lyrics" because I was still laughing, despite the ambiguity in its unresolved form being concentrated in the title.
