Jeff Martin once answered in an interview: When William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac [founding members of The Beat Generation poets] would get together in the late 1940's and early 1950's and discuss philosophical ideas, write poetry and smoke hash, their code word for it was to go have, 'a tea party'.
