Comments: "Raindrops" was R&B singer Dee Clark's highest charing pop hit, going to #2 in 1961. Dee Clark wrote the song. Dee Clark was born in Blytheville, Arkansas in 1938. He moved to Chicago with his family in 1941. His mother Delecta sang spirituals and encouraged his singing. His first singing debut was at 14 years old in the group Hambone Kids. He later sang in the R&B group the Goldenstones. He went solo in 1957 and a had a string of Top 40 hits. Dee Clark died of a heart attack on December 17, 1990 at the age of 52 years old.
