Story about this misheard lyric by: Alison Runyon

I have always liked this song, which I consider a most underrated song by an underrated artist. It has both English and Italian lyrics. I always thought the English lyrics were sung quite clearly and thought there was no mistaking about my understanding of them. But I always wished I could learn the Italian lyrics as well. I sought in vain to find printed lyrics for the song. Then when the internet came along, I looked for the lyrics thereon, with no success for a long time. Recently I finally found the lyrics posted on a site. Surprise -there turned out to be a line in English that I hadn't understood correctly.
