"Don't Just Stand There" would have been a disaster except for the heroics of the sound engineers who were able to cover up her obvious lack of singing talent. Subsequent releases would fall far short of her success with her first hit record. It is a good thing that she didn't quit her day job with the "Patty Duke Show" to become a full-time pop singer.
