Real Lyrics -> Bad Grammar in Song Lyrics -> Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

Song lyrics aren't supposed to be a fountain of perfect english, but on the other hand some are just so atrocious, they need to get called out. We're not looking for sentance fragments or the word ain't since there are too many instances to count.

Bad Grammar in Song Lyrics, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers

Check out the index.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers', "I Won't Back Down"
The Lyrics:
There ain't no easy way out.
'Ain't' is not considered to be good English, and 'ain't no' is a double negative. If Tom says there ain't no easy way out, obviously there's SOME easy way out. It should be 'There IS no easy way out.'
