Story about this misheard lyric by: m Not really a mishearing, but more a misunderstanding of what the lyrics meant. I thought for the longest time that the line meant 'holla back, young and Fabolous', as in the rapper's nickname, only the word 'Fabolous' was replaced by 'whoo whoo'. It was only about 2 years after the song came out that I learned that 'young'n' is actually Southern us slang for 'young one', as in young girl, so he was actually telling a girl to 'holla back' at him, not advertising himself as 'young and Fabolous'! I live in Canada, and I have never heard this phrase used here, so that's why I misunderstood this lyric. |
