Songs That Open With Their Titles:

"Love, Look In My Window"
Opening Lines:
Love, look in my window.
Comments:
"Love, Look In My Window" is another song from Jerry Herman's musical, "Hello, Dolly!" But the song itself was only added after Ethel Merman took over the title rool, in 1967, from the original Dolly Levi, Carol Channing (it was added for Merman's wider vocal range) when Channing went out to Hollywood. Barbra Streisand would not sing the song either in the 1969 motion picture (when she played Dolly Levi) because the song was not put into the motion picture version.

"Mr. Goldstone"
Opening Lines:
Have an eggroll, Mr. Goldstone.
Comments:
"Mr. Goldstone" is a song from the Broadway musical, 1962 motion picture and 1993 TV special, "Gypsy" (music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim). "Gypsy" first premiered on Broadway on May 21, 1959 with Ethel Merman playing Mama Rose and is loosely based on the relationship between the pushy Mama Rose and her daughter, Louise, who would later go on to become the stripper, Gypsy Rose Lee (who wrote the original story the musical is based on). Other actresses who have played Mama Rose were: Rosalind Russell in the 1962 motion picture, Angela Lansbury in a mid-1970's Broadway revival, Tyne Daly, briefly, and then Linda Lavin in a late 1980's/early 1990's Broadway revival and finally Bette Midler on a CBS-TV special movie in 1993.
