Belinda Carlisle is the lead singer of Los Angeles New Wave group the Go-Go's (1981/82 hits, "We Got The Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed": the group still performs live and has released an albums within in the last couple of years). Belinda Carlisle had the best solo career in the late 1980's of any of the Go-Go's having several top ten records and two #1 hits, including this one, "Heaven Is A Place On Earth" which went to #1 in November 1987. The Earth,in the title and in the lyrics of the tune (I have posted part of the chorus of the tune), is the planet that we all live on.
