Nonsensical Lyrics:
"Bad To The Bone"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: I broke a thousand hearts
before I met you Break a thousand more baby before I am through Why They're Nonsensical: I initially heard this ludicrous thing on the closing credits of the movie Christine.Remember? The demon possessed car? Can't think what possessed the author of this grade A drivel number to write it,except perhaps grade A dope. Just who are we dealing with in this song? Some kind of Devil-inspired psycho, who's single ambition is to wreck people's lives?Guys, that is precisely what is coming across. If a nonsensical number could also be described as sinister it's right here. This cloud cuckoo land prince of darkness has met a pretty lady. She seems to be taking an interest in him,and then he starts vomiting forth the greatest flood of horrific hogwash this side of eternity.Like, guys, what was going on in these lyricist's heads? He seems particularly down on women. He makes rich ones beg, good ones steal, old ones blush and young ones squeal.Like, what?Apparently he carried an aura of menace even as a new born baby-It's starting to sound like The Omen.Check out the lines I've chosen above.Whether he's talking about hearts as in girls who have loved him,or hearts in general,he really has been on a reign of terror the likes of which we can scarcely dream of.He wants to be her's and her's alone, but then,he's bad to the bone.B-B-B-B Bad to the bone. The bald fact of the matter is that someone-not sure whether it was Thorogood himself or not-dreamt up this demonic figure of fantasy, who spouts the diabolical and the ludicrous all in one rancid breath. Why?For what purpose? The number simply reads as absolute drivel.Even if such a monster existed would he actually warn the next girl in line of who she's getting? No.Yet in this mirror to madness song he does precisely that.In setting out to write drivel, lyricists can end up piling drivel on drivel until a number makes no sense even in the context of drivel itself.Bad to the bone? Try MAD to the bone.
