Figaro is a number which has to be heard to be believed.Back in the 70s when it first came out it was striking me as wierd even then.Today it sounds absolutely insane.Actually the group produced a number of oddities including Angelo and Fernando,and,if you're extremely brave you can check them all out.Anyway,just who is this Figaro dude?Well,according to this very silly song he's a predatory male out to bed every pretty girl in sight.Said activity is going on every day,and as yet not one girl seems to mind the fact that this Figaro is sleeping around like nothing on Earth.His favourate stomping ground is the beach,where you'll find him picking up new girls all the time.Who wrote such incomparable kack?In the real world this opportunist would get a name on himself in no time at all and have to find pastures new.Either this scenic area is populated by extremely loose girls or extremely stupid ones.Or maybe he really has some of that magic referred to in the above line.Finally we come to the biggie-What's this God's gift to women doing with an insane name like Figaro?If you introduced yourself to a girl as Figaro I reckon that's about as far as the conversation would get.Mind you I could be wrong and the title could be his nickname.I'm not too sure who Figaro was in the play,but no matter.What you are left with is as ludicrous an example of a 70s number as you'll encounter.
