Herbie Kay & His Orchestra's, "Rhythm Steps"
If you’re not a dunce,
You’ll catch on at once,
Simple as ABC,
It’s the Rhythm Steps, whoa!
Simple as the day is long!
Yes, the original song is really THAT boastful. First of all, it insults the people who refuse to “dance the Rhythm Steps” by calling them dunces. Second, it calls the dance “simple as ABC”, and uses the exclamation “whoa!” in describing it. And to top it all off the singers exclaim “Simple as the day is long!!” as the very last lyrics that are sung, right before the end, which is completely irrelevant to the topic at hand. A comparison between the length of the day and this obscure dance (two steps forward, one step back) does not tell the 21st-century listener ANYTHING useful about how to actually dance to it. Maybe at the time it was exciting. Nowadays this song is just perfect fodder for AmIRight.

Sting's,
"If You Love Somebody Set Them Free"
If you wanna keep something precious, gotta lock it up and throw away the key
If you lock something precious up and throw away the key - how will you get it unlocked when you want to access it? Who would choose to throw away the key? Most people would just keep the key out of reach away from others where no one can find or access it. Some people lock up items in a safe with a combination lock that doesn't even have a key. If you lock something up in a safe deposit box at your bank and then you lose (or clumsily throw away as he is saying) the key - your bank will charge you a HUGE fee to get the lock drilled out and replaced!

The lyrical line refers to living at group homes, staying at mental hospitals, going to grade schools, staying in prisons, staying in jails, living in residential schools, moving to different homes that's 1000 miles away from parents' homes, and any place where anyone is being held-captive by kidnappers

Savage Garden's, "The Animal Song"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
I want to run through the jungle
the wind in my hair and the sand on my feet
Why They're Inappropriate:
From what I've seen of the jungle (and believe me, I have been there) there isn't really wind or sand. It's too humid for much wind, and since a lot of the ground is clay, it doesn't make for very good sand.

Dero's delivery of these lines is already creepy enough, but when you translate it into English you get something like this: She said, "God, I've ripped his intestines out, And I wanted him to suffer, But, apparently, his body never had a soul."
