Since when should two-year-olds--who are usually illiterate anyway--have any interest in the writings of Shakespeare or Edith Wharton? Barney is geared toward little kids; when I was a kid I liked tv animal characters like Webster Webfoot, Kukla and Ollie, and Lamb Chop--not to mention countless cartoon characters. And, as I matured, I still read John Steinbeck, Ralph Ellison, Conan Doyle--and Shakespeare--anyway. The Steps are usually on target but with this song they were far from it.
