The Lyrics

[film brain]SYMBOLISM!!![/film brain] Yeah, that's all I gotta say, except for that fact that I did include all of the little bits of this song, so it may be a bit confusing (like anything I do makes sense).
Ohh ohh, ohh
Yeah
Mmm, mmm

Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
It means something, right? Just what does it symbolise?
(Symbolise)
Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
It means something, right? Just what does it symbolise?
I just like goin' through all the subtext

They're lyin' on the floor
Arms spread out, their legs together, I'm sure
Must mean somethin', like the blood that's on the door
Black cars that race in circles forever more - it means what, buddy?
It's gotta be a link to another
Now his hairstyle's different, means he's uplifted?
He's on drugs now his hat's on twisted
Must be what it symbolises, I hit it
Broken bottle, seven melting candles
Ain't no symbolism I can't handle, nothing escapes me
Can't bluff me, check ev'ry frame, nothing that I can't see
Not crazy, buddy
This git chews coca (ohh) that git drinks cola (ohh)
Put it together (ayy) secret plug, gotcha (mmm)
No der, no der
No der, that's what it means for sure

Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
(Must relate to somethin', yeah?)
It means something, right? Just what does it symbolise?
(Symbolises something, right?)
Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
(Yeah)
It means something, right? Just what does it symbolise? (uh, uh)
I just like goin' through all the subtext
(Yeah)

Now what is this?
Black sand, looks freaky, I can't interpret this
(Yeah)
At short notice (uh)
Though those red eyes must symbolise your unsteadiness
That character is yourself, it's obvious
Didn't take long to ruminate about this
Once again: gotcha!
Give me props, won'tcha, cuz I broke
Through your secret shtick, I won't blame you if you don't
Your stuff I watch - fill ten sheets of paper
Of notes and all that shite, solvin' this caper
Always hintin', but at what? Well
There's this bit from that one scene in the jail cell
Guy's troubled, got tattoos and some stubble
I write this all down, gonna figure out this puzzle
(Yeah, yeah)
Guy wants to leave, yeah?
A metaphor for something's in there somewhere

Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
It means something, right? Just what does it symbolise? Yeah, yeah
(Tell me, what's it symbolise?)
(That stop sign symbolises something, right?)
Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
(Answers: need 'em buddy)
It means something, right? Just what does it symbolise? (uh, uh)
I just like goin' through all the subtext
(I just like sortin' through all this crud)

Must mean, must mean something, buddy
(Oh, but what?)
Well, am I right? Just what does it symbolise?
(Oh, but what?)
So what does it symbolise, ooh?
Why won't you tell me, tell me - prove my theories
Might not be right, so what does it symbolise? (uh, uh)
I wanna figure out all this subtext

Belle's in the deli, askin' for some jelly
Tattooed "Melee" on her belly - what does that mean, buddy?
Please explain it; yes I act like I know it
But I'm just making up shit; I'm good at that shit
And I need this; make sense of your universe
That you done created, but tell me first:
Does anything symbolise
I ask because I always seem to find
When I ask this to the creator guys
They almost never intended to symbolise
So I ask, buddy, were, in your plans
Any intent for symbolism in your crap?
Tell me why don'tcha (ohh) tell me why don'tcha (ohh)
Tell me why don'tcha (ayy) tell me why don'tcha (mmm)
Tell, Bert...please, Bert?
Spill Bert, or I'll rip up your shirt

Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
(What does it mean?)
Means something, right? Just what does it symbolise? Yeah, yeah
(Must know the deal)
(Uh, uh, symbolises something, right?)
Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
(What's the deal?)
Means something, right? Just what does it symbolise?
(What's the deal?)
I just like goin' through all the subtext
(Uh, symbolises something, right?)

Must mean, must mean something, buddy
(Yeah, yeah, gotta spill what the real deal is, buddy)
(Oh, but what?)
Well, am I right? Just what does it symbolise?
(What's the message?)
(Oh, but what?)
So what does it symbolise, ooh?
(If you can speak it, please reveal it)
Why won't you tell me, tell me - prove my theories
(I ask you, fess up)
Might not be right, so what does it symbolise?
(Everybody wants to know what you meant)
I wanna figure out all this subtext
(Okay, it's just me)
(Your plot, it must, symbolise, uh)

Won't you tell me, just call me
Then when you're ready you can reveal
And if I'm right, please give some props to me
And if I'm wrong, please don't mock this long spiel

Got a question, buddy, what's it mean?
Means something, right? Just what does it symbolise?
(Symbolise)
(Symbolises something, right?)
No, it's not a repeated typo, the "ize" suffix is spelled "ise" in Australia. At least it does according to my Firefox/MS Word Australia dictionary (specifically installed because I was sick of it telling me that "colour" was spelled wrong).

TCoP - Clever work, very well-handled...and definitely not for the "symbol-minded"! ;D

DKTOS, just stopped by to leave a tech comment: Many programs, including Firefox web browser, ask you your locale when you download them. They will then localise for that, including the spelling.
-ise is used throughout the entire UK/CW, as far as I know, as well as -our vs. US -or endings. Not just Aussie. Yes, my US-localized Firefox just flagged the above spelling of "localise". Just remember to check "UK" if "Australia" isn't a choice, whenever you download or install any program. And as you noted, you can usually change locaisations later -- even on the Windows™ operating system itself, I think. Cheers, mate!

This was a pretty interesting parody TCOP, I always find it interesting to see how differently English is used in different countries. . .and I didn't realize many programs plan for those differences.

Kick-ass song! Man, I don't know I went with that strange 80s tune when all these 2000s tunes are pretty damn awesome!

As a graphic design major, I know all too well how important symbolism is...nice work!

Wacky on the surrealist side of thangs (but what is a "no der"?). Sometimes though, a cigar is just a cigar.

See above. I'm enjoying your use of symbolism at work here.

(ABC) A very symbolic parody. (Really, I was thinking of a way to use that word in a pun or as a joke...and it's too hard)

Tough song, nothing simple about it! Really good stuff in here.
