Comments:
The fall 1965 #2 hit, "1 2 3" has an interesting life all it's own. The song started as the Supremes' tune "Ask Any Girl" as written by the Motown writing trio of Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland. "Ask Any Girl" released in 1962 didn't go far. Later Len Barry, the former lead singer of the Dovells, got the songwriting trio of Len Madara, David White and Leonard Borisoff to rework "Ask Any Girl" with the smash, "1 2 3" being the result.
