| Parody Song Title: | "Martha Stewart Living, What a Pity" |
| Parody Written by: | Guy DiRito |
A girl is born in Industry New Jersey
Bounded by doors and walls so tacky, my mercy
At once she knew it needs her attention
She even baked a cake, I forget to mention
Living's fun enough
Not so tough
In the city
Her father worked at times some obscene hours
Selling drugs to pharmacies like fam'ly dollar
Her mother taught in public schools to many
And you could concieve she didn't leave back any
Giving just enough
Ain't no fluff
Down and gritty
She's got the knack to make a dump look pretty
She builds a desk with drawers and legs so sturdy
Her 'Living' show makes her get up real early
She plays the stocks, insider trading's dirty
Playing just enough
calls your bluff
she's so witty
Her broker narced he got in trouble plenty
Her freedom's nice but soon whe won't have any
A prison job she soon will be a needin'
Spend her days in the prison garden weedin'
'Living' must be rough
Rough enough
What a pity
Bounded by doors and walls so tacky, my mercy
At once she knew it needs her attention
She even baked a cake, I forget to mention
Living's fun enough
Not so tough
In the city
Her father worked at times some obscene hours
Selling drugs to pharmacies like fam'ly dollar
Her mother taught in public schools to many
And you could concieve she didn't leave back any
Giving just enough
Ain't no fluff
Down and gritty
She's got the knack to make a dump look pretty
She builds a desk with drawers and legs so sturdy
Her 'Living' show makes her get up real early
She plays the stocks, insider trading's dirty
Playing just enough
calls your bluff
she's so witty
Her broker narced he got in trouble plenty
Her freedom's nice but soon whe won't have any
A prison job she soon will be a needin'
Spend her days in the prison garden weedin'
'Living' must be rough
Rough enough
What a pity

Hehehe!
"So tacky" -- you've got Martha's home town of Nutley down to a T, Guy. They think they're so swell there. They ain't. My mother lived in both Belleville and Nutley, and she says Nutley is Belleville putting on airs. I once saw a concert by singer Frankie Valli, lead singer of the Four Seasons, who grew up a few doors down from Mom (on Mount Prospect Avenue, in the North Ward of Newark), and he asked if there was anyone from New Jersey in the audience. Since we were living in Bloomfield when I was born, I mentioned Bloomfield. A few people said Newark, Bloomfield, Belleville, Montclair, Kearny, all towns near Newark. Frankie asked, "Anybody from Nutley?" Nobody admitted it. "Good," Frankie said, "I never liked Nutley." Everybody laughed. Need more proof of how bad Nutley is? Martha Stewart is the second famous person to come from there. The first? Michael Guibitosi, alias actor Robert Blake. Maybe Martha can cook for Bobby in jail.
Actually her family moved there from Jersey City when she was three. Is that movin' on up to the east side in that deluxe apartment or what? Actually Jersey City traded up when they moved. And Blake should have kept his original name. That Italian surname would have given him more character. So what's up with him anyway? Starts out with an Italian name, changes it to an Anglo one and then plays the part of an Italian-American cop. Seems that Nutley town tends to breed a bad element for celebs.
Who will teach us needless household tasks now?
I was the only famous resident from Nutley! My formative years were spent there and wewere not snobbish, just the best! The Old Military Hall, working class all the way. Formal Italian wear(sleeveless undershirta ) hanging out downtown. Yatacaw School I remember it well! Wow Martha Robert and Paul!
