The Lyrics

My music hobby is performing old songs (mainly 30’s through 70’s). I write funny parodies for some of them. I change the song’s serious theme to something funny but retain original lyrics and rhyme as much as possible. This one got started by changing the song theme from "on the road again" to "stoned on the road again".
Stoned on the road again
We’ll be weaving down the road again
The life I love is drinking moonshine with some friends
Soon we’ll be stoned on the road again

Stoned on the road again
Going places where a beer’s a friend
Our big ole truck will be doing small cars in
When we’re stoned on the road again

Stoned on the road again
Like gypsies we’ll puke on the highway
We’ll make fenders bend
And we’ll burp when we pass your way
In our high way

Out on the road again
I just can’t wait to start another binge
Where my pickup truck and beer are my best friends
When I leave this jail and hit the road again
That’s when I’ll be out on the road again
