Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"This Song's Got No Name"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

Well I ain't seen much of Jersey
But I once was down in Cape May
And I rode upon a ferry
Over to Atlantic City
Lots of casinos
Right by the ocean
I kind of liked it.....hmmmmm.....

Well I never been to England
But I know that is where Phil lives
I like to read his parodies
If I know the originals
I like to read em, I like to read em
He writes so good, writes so good

Well I never been to heaven
But it sure ain't Oklahoma
And it ain't most of Texas
Although that's where I was born-a
Way down in Texas
Way down south there
By the water

Well I never been insane
But I found a little website
Where the parodies are strange
And the writers even stranger
We won't abuse it
Don't wanna lost it
How are you Chucky......hmmmmmm......

Well I never been to heaven
But it's somewhere by the ocean
Where there's lots of avocados
And the daquiris are frozen
Maybe it's Florida, maybe Hawaii
It doesn't matter

Okay, I made an error here in the original authors--THREE DOG NIGHT--from the 70's----the band I cited did a cover of this song--my mistake.

You ever been to Long Island, Royce? lol..good job
Michael Pacholek - July 31, 2003 - Report this comment
Only the error on the original performers (3DN first did this Hoyt Axton song) kept Royce from a perfecto. Well, one more thing: Cape May is not in New Jersey. There's a lot of South Jersey that's more like the South than like North Jersey. It is, after all, south of the Mason-Dixon Line. And those Piners... they got a house that is mobile and 14 cars that aren't, they might be rednecks. Florida? Sure, if you don't care about voting or 85 percent humidity 100 percent of the time.

Michael P, thanks for reading my parody---didn't know Hoyt Axton wrote this--you know alot of stuff. Anyway, my dear friend, Cape May may not be in the part of New Jersey you ascribe to, but it's in the state that some of us idiots think of as New Jersey......

"I've never been deranged" has been on my to-do list for a while. You beat me to it with "I've never been insane." Nice work, Royce!
