The Lyrics

Russia now has 8,000 men, 100 tanks, 400 armored vehicles, and 150+ artillery and MLRS weapons in E Ukraine. Along the border are 50,000 Russian troops ready to enter. Putin seems intent on taking E Ukraine by force. 160 aircraft are also in reserve including: fighter and attack Su-27s, MiG-35s, Su-25s, and the strategic bomber Tu-160. Helos include the Mil-28.
On the move again
On the border are 50,000 men
T-72s shipped by rail labeled with an N*
Ukraine being invaded by unmarked Green Men

On the move again
Reinforcements sent from Vlad Putin
Kiev worried that this is war, not pretend
Ukraine being invaded by unmarked Green Men

On the move again
Happy bands of soldiers traveling in convoys
With Ethnic Russian “friends”
Insisting that annexation is the only way
Moscow's way, to avoid invasion

On the border are 50,000 men
T-72s shipped by rail labeled with an N
Ukraine being invaded by unmarked Green Men
* N= negabaritnost or oversize load (Russian Railways)

And the USAF is down to just 80 A-10 Thunderbolts, which the top brass wants to send to the boneyard.

I was thinking about the A-10 as well. The Russians have brought in lots of AA, however, so no easy kills. They have mobile gun and missile systems plus MANPADS. I'm sure if this was a real war situation that Fulcrums and Flankers would be hunting NATO aircraft while the Su-25s and Tu-160s would be bombing, even old updated Su-24s!!! GWB backed down on Georgia... I don't think Obama even cares about Ukraine.
Rob Arndt - November 19, 2014 - Report this comment
Actually Patrick, the total of A-10s in active inventory is 283 between the USAF, their Reserve, and ANG. It is proposed to retire them in FY 2015, but since the F-35 is still non-operational and drones are in short supply... the A-10 may survive a bit longer. Also on the chopping block with sequestration cuts renewed would be the KC-10 tankers and some F-15C aircraft!!!
