The Lyrics

What's on these looney North Korean's minds(pipe dreams of a LITTLE power):
Welcome to one mind
You must watch your back
Evil never sleeps
Missiles find you
React to our bad behavior
USA will have no savior
North Korea wants to rule the world

It's just test designed
We have no recourse
Launching we decide
Make you mourn the loss of
Loved ones and your treasures
USA won't last forever
North Korea Wants To Rule The World

Provoke us and our lights will find you
Clapping hands while your world come crumbling down
Commie rule we'll now override you
You're mad at what we've created
All current rule is faded
North Korea Wants To Rule The World

Protect our ruling vision
No stopping our dreams of fission
North Korea Wants To Rule The World

Our way you better, better, better, better heed it
Cross our line you will grieve it
North Korea Wants To Rule The World

Now for Plutonium pleasures
World sees our glowing treasures
North Korea Wants To Rule The World

A big hit - perhaps we need a Team America: World Police sequel as the first one didn't take care of him - dropping 5's on you for the parody.

Don't know the song, but this is an awesome parody! 5 neutron bombs, 5 warheads, and 5 RPGs for you, Mark Scotti! This parody is, to quote Nathan Explosion after Mustokrakish is defeated "Metal."
Mark Scotti - June 01, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, DJ! The song was an "Eighties" hit for Tears For Fears. Comedian Dennis Miller used it for his theme song on his old show on HBO

I don't know this song, but I did like what you said in your parody.
Everyone seemed ok with the pacing and I could see that the rhyming was good. :) 5's

Scary. Too true to be funny, but that's good, too - social satire is among the best uses of the art. 555-kiloton hit here, Mark, and I think you have a good parody Korea ahead of you. (Sorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!)
Mark Scotti - June 01, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Tom(and for raising the bar with that idea about Korea....)

To Turtle, just read that last Korea comment out loud, FUNNY!!!

I'm thinking that it's just a matter of time before North Korea drops a uranium bomb on another country- probably the U.S. or South Korea. 5s for you.

Thanks, Andria!!!

SOTM: Best way to look at depressing news? Make a parody about it! very nice job!! 555
Mark Scotti - July 15, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Abbott. It was a very cheery, upbeat song that, just as you said, made for great parody, especially on this VERY SCARY subject...

(SOTM) I am completely shocked that some of you DKTOS.oes anyone not remember those 10-10-210 commercials (I think it was) with John Stamos? This was funny in how scary and true it could be. I think Kim Jong-Il will be giving you fives any minute now. 555

Missle launch of thanks to you, Chris!

I love this original song, it's one of my favorites to sing in Karaoke Revolution... I'm not really a fan of political parodies, but generally I just can't get into them... But this was still a pretty fun read.
Mark Scotti - July 29, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Matthias. The OS seem to really fit this situation...
bobpiecheese - July 30, 2009 - Report this comment
(SOTM) DKTOS (or any Tears For Fears songs outside of Shout and Mad World), and I know nothing about the Korean political situation. Sooo...I can't say anything here. Ah, well.

Thanks for the comment, anyway, bob!

This one was kinda scary :) Fun OS, well written, a little simple on the comedy end, but very well written, and a good read Mark, keep it up.

SOTM...didn't get many laughs out of this one. Well written, and I agree with the whole thing though.
Phil Alexander - July 31, 2009 - Report this comment
I'm feeling really picky... in that as I sang through this, I kept thinking "well, no, they don't really".. but the mental image of the "Team America" Kim Jong Il puppet saying to the rest of the world "I have nuke now.. all your base belong to us" kept me smiling through this
Mark Scotti - July 31, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks to Dave, "Auntie", and Phil! Those NK's are a bunch of loons...
EmiLoca - July 31, 2009 - Report this comment
5's for truth. Great job making a favorite OS sound like a Kim Jong Il speech (or maybe that's not so great).

Thanks, Emiloca!
Agrimorfee - September 09, 2010 - Report this comment
Another politically-charged parody...it doesn't really have much to say to me. I feel as though the OS was really saying the same thing quite succinctly.

Okay, I'm going to expand my opinion since this time I had the TOS to listen along to. While as a read only--it is eh on comedy, but to the OS it actually is pretty funny. Why? Because you managed to turn so many of the original lines against the original song, while totally changing the meaning. My only real negative was pacing wasn't very tight, but this was a very good parody of a classic Tears for Fears song.
