Song Parodies -> Brian Setzer

Original Song Title:

"Bodhisattva"

Original Performer:

Steely Dan

Parody Song Title:

"Brian Setzer"

Parody Written by:

Andy Primus

If you're a fan of the Dan check out a great version of this song by The Brian Setzer Orchestra on the 'Me, Myself & Irene' film soundtrack CD released in 2000. Half of the CD is Steely Dan covers but I haven't heard any of the others. Brian Setzer was the singer/guitarist in The Stray Cats in the 1980's. Since 1990 he has been the leader of a 17 piece band that plays swing jazz & jump blues.
Brian Setzer
He can make an axe sound grand
Brian Setzer
He don't fake it with the band
He's a showman
He swings and I'm a fan
His sparkle can't be finer
What a showman
Brian Setzer
Brian Setzer
I gotta tell ya he's no clown
Brian Setzer
He's gonna wear that swingin' crown
And he'll be there
To swing and be the man
His sparkle can't be finer
And he's got flair
Brian Setzer

Thanks Alvin - I'm a big, big fan of the BSO (and the Dan) but I rarely come across anyone else that knows anything other than the Stray Cats singles. If you haven't heard it, check out their version of the Louis Prima song "Jump, jive an' wail" - it don't come any more swingin' than that.

Nice tribute. I saw Setzer with a guitar-bass-drums trio. Fantastic.

Thanks John - Brian Setzer/Bodhisattva just had to be done considering he covered the song.
