Song Parodies -> Tipsy

Original Song Title:

"Misty"

Original Performer:

Ray Stevens

Parody Song Title:

"Tipsy"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

I know that Johnny Mathis recorded this before Ray Stevens, but it's the Ray Stevens faster version, that I envision going with my parody...
Look at me
I'm as wobbly as a giraffe without knees
And I know I will be falling your way again--
I'm tipsy, from drinkin that gin

Walk by me
Just in case I wander smack into a tree
Or it might be something bigger, like a Mack truck--
I'm tipsy, ferociously drunk

You can say that you're leading me on
Oh Baby, I'm beggin please do
Don't you realize how wasted I am
That's why I'm fallin' on you

On my own
I could end up on my nextdoor neighbor's lawn
Or maybe I'll end up behind bars, down at the clink
I'm tipsy, had too much to drink

Billy Florio--You bet! Ray did the best version of it, in my opinion--he really picked up the tempo, and to me, it made the song what the song really could be instead of the slow thing it was to start with--Ray made it playful--try to hear his version
