Song Parodies -> "Stewart's Spice Fair"

Original Song Title:

"Scarborough Fair"

Original Performer:

Simon & Garfunkel

Parody Song Title:

"Stewart's Spice Fair"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

The Lyrics

Are you going to Stewart's spice fair?
Coriander and fenugreek
Remember she is now in a prison
Where the food tastes pretty darn bleak

Get her some horseradish and some ginger
Coriander and fenugreek
Without no spice, the food is bland
She will be your dear friend for life

Get her some saffron and tumeric grand
Coriander and fenugreek
This time in the jail is not what she planned
She will be your dear friend for life

Get her some nutmeg for her pumpkin pie
Coriander and fenugreek
There's no spice in jail and that is no lie
She will be your dear friend for life

Are you going to Stewart's spice fair?
Coriander and fenugreek
Remember she is now in a prison
Food in there is tasteless and bleak

I think this is a hard song to parody, but your pacing seems very good. I didn't know what fenugreek was, but it seems like a very good parody word, especially when you were able to rhyme it.

I don't know why you didn't use tarragon? And you should have made it Martha's Spice Fair, since Stewart sounds like a first name anyway, and Martha sounds more like Scarborough. And they do use spices on the food in prison, especially the country club types where she is, so that's an exaggeration (but not a lie, Mr. Prosecuter! ) ;-)

Ally, I'm going to do a parody of the longer version, the Scarborough Fair/Canticle, and I'll use tarragon, just for you-
