Parody Song Title:

"Limericks"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Limerick, cinque,
oh, limerick, it is my favorite shtik.
Limerick lingua,
oh, limericks are how I get my kicks.
Three A lines, B’s are two,
an anapestic purview.
Five lines is all that you do;
to clean humor, “adieu!”
Yeah, my joy is writin’ ’em down.
“There once was. . . .” often the starting sound.

Oh, lingua limer’,
oh, limerick, it is my favorite shtik.
Lingua limer’,
oh, limericks are how I get my kicks.

Use puns and homophones, the former holding sway.
It’s an art, I’m telling you, despite what some say.
When you start, you’ll soon be through;
line count never strays.
That count is always gonna be cin-co;
it is what keeps the form trim. So. . .
Limber lingua,
those limericks are what give me my kicks.
Yes, limericks stir—
these limericks, they stir me to the quick.
Oh, I love ’em, love lots of ’em.

The form’s OK; it cannot be any longer;
sixth line couldn’t be any wronger.
Iambs would make me rue;
those limerick lines need three beats, not two.

Oh, limber lingua.
Ban a line six…doin’ limericks.
Sixers—nix, sir!
No limerick would ever go to six.
Oh, I love ’em; limericks
give me my favorite kicks.
I gotta say that the urge is getting stronger:
I can’t hold out very much longer.
Mo’ limericks gotta get written quick….

Didn't, Rob. But they had great ones then.

JAB, do you remember Playboy's Little Annie Fanny cartoon and Penthouse's rip-off Oh, Wicked Wanda? Those were the days ;-)

According to an extensive on-line limerick dictionary (OEDILF.com, a work-in-progress, with almost 100,000 verses) ... "The mental disorder in which sufferers feel endlessly compelled to write innumerable limericks might be dubbed limerrhea, hyperlimerosis, or more simply, limerick addiction. .. ./ It's addictively frequent extrusion / Of short verses not void of confusion — / Three rhymes 'A', and two 'B'. Ah! / Could be called 'limerrhea', / For a lexicon lacking conclusion. /" ... Welcome to the club. 5s.

We learned about these back in high school. There once was a song that got 5's...

Wicked Wanda was a rip off of Little Annie Fanny? That never occured to me, mostly because, as a young adult growing up in that time, it never occurred to me to even look at a Penthouse magazine (Ba doom tsssh!)

I dont know if Wicked Wanda was a ripoff Of Annie Fanny, Rob, but I do know that I would have loved to have ripped off the panties of either one of them

Maybe not a direct rip-off, but a definite rival that used to include making fun of Little Annie Fanny as having fake balloon breasts and buttocks! Also, a B-17G at Eglin (44-83863) had its nose painted with Wicked Wanda: http://s95.photobucket.com/user/thevid/media/EglinAFB_14May77_034crp_zps87b58830.jpg.html
