The Lyrics

We've all seen a store be out of something. It gets a bit weirder when that "something" is "every frigging thing", though...
Ev'ry day I head over to check, I head over to check on the stock
And each day I head over to check, I head over to check, not a lot

Poke my head through the door of this once-proud store
And there's nothin' sittin' there, products equal "jack-all"
Kinda nuts that it's not abandoned yet
The staff are stuck, starin', starin', starin' right through me
There's been dust on these shelves for way too long
Staff look tired, not a lot to do but mop floors
I wonder why dead space is all I see

It can't be because I'm late (ooh), too late for the awesome deals (ah)
I'm first in, you know, but I (ooh) swear that I'll learn the truth, oh-ooh-whoa-ooh-whoa-oh (ah)

Worked these kinda jobs, I know 'bout the loadin' trucks
When they show up, what they're loadin' and for how long
So I've watched to make sure stuff's comin' in
Swear that I'm not stalkin', stalkin', stalkin', trust in me
Trucks come in, dump a lot of boxes, that's right
Wait twenty minutes to start on reshelvin' time
I wander in and gape, still jack to see

Still so full of empty space (ooh), that contradicts but you see (ah)
So does a store that's not shut (ooh) despite the ugly truth, oh-ooh-whoa-oh-oh (ah)
They're sellin' nothin', my brain (ooh) can't work out how that can be (ah)
Must go deeper to unbox (ooh) the sinister-ish truth, oh-ooh-whoa-ooh-whoa-oh (ah)

Resumé is what I'm gonna give, it's what I'm gonna give to the boss
Gonna claim that I love this bus'ness, I do love this bus'ness, that ain't off
Bygone days, they aren't always the best, in this case they're the best and they're gone
I won't say that mid-interview, best to keep that in my chest locked up

I'll climb the ranks 'til the day (ooh) the whole place answers to me (ah)
So they can tell me what's up (ooh) with why there's zero food, oh-ooh-whoa-oh-oh (ah)
Is this a big drug front, mate (ooh)? Some kinda shell company (ah)?
Will I have to call the fuzz (ooh)? Somethin' here's fishy, dude, oh-ooh-whoa-ooh-whoa-oh (ah)

Ooh-whoa-oh-oh-oh, ooh-whoa, oh, oh, oh
Ooh-whoa-oh-oh-oh

I really hope that nothin's wrong
Just in the dark about some lovely stuff
Should I just go? I'm sure they will (ooh-ooh)
Be one day full of beans and muffins (ooh-ooh)
I don't know (oh-oh)
Those blank rows might stay, that blows

What's also weird is when a song is named for a word or phrase that only appears in the outro. It's like it's inviting you to guess why the song is named that for the whole runtime...buggered if I know why it's the case here.
