The Lyrics

The endless charm of street doodles, now in song form!
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh-oh

E'vry day I'm findin'
A splash of colour where I tend to tread
Sometimes scribbles show, other times they're sursprisin'
In depth and shadin' upon the pavement
Little scrawlers are not found, though
I do look for them, you know
Sounds kind of awkward, to be honest
I'm just so fond of this art

Chalked-on streets (whoa), amazin' (whoa)
Love to see them near my home (whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh)
No matter the level of competence (whoa-whoa-oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Or artistry they have or show (oh-oh-oh-oh)
They're just kids, not (whoa) trained artists (whoa)
Or they could be, I don't know (whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
There's no signature (whoa-whoa-oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh)
It's a mystery I ponder so (oh-oh-oh-oh)

Damn rain, it washes aways shit
That's what I'm thinkin' when it starts drippin'
Photos, I do take, sometimes it means racin'
So that said rain drips don't completely erase them
Myst'ry scrawlers still not found, though
I'd fund their careers, you know
Because "exposure" is plain bogus
These kids could live off their art

Chalked-on streets (whoa), amazin' (whoa)
All colours of the rainbow (whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh)
Might've missed some, but with real confidence (whoa-whoa-oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh)
There's not a single dong on show (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Hence I say they're (whoa) young artists (whoa)
Children who are yet to know (whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh)
That drawin' boners (whoa-whoa-oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Is rarely ever a non-fun joke (oh-oh-oh-oh)
Chalked-on streets, amazin'
Each day's diff'rent, that's no joke (each day's diff'rent, that's no joke)
A staggerin' amount of competence (a staggerin' amount of competence)
For young children, though I suppose (for young children, though I suppose, oh-oh-oh-oh)
These could be older artists
Tryin' to switch up the flow (tryin' to switch up the flow)
But no signature (whoa-whoa-oh-whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Means the real answer is "I don't know" (oh-oh-oh-oh)

I'd say that chalk is my least favourite medium due to the unevenness of the stick end, but that'd be a lie. The worst medium to work with is charcoal cause it gets friggin' everywhere and smudges only when you don't want it to.
