MTV VJ JJ Jackson died Wednesday. May he RIP.
Lets go back
Back to the beginning
August '81
The Radio Star
Video killed
The VJs
'Specially JJ Jackson
He brought music back from the dead and he gave it new life
MTV
But a heart attack
He rests in peace
JJ passed away
Poor MTV
He's the VJ who exposed KISS
Their faces clean
Had a heart attack
He rests in peace
He rests in peace
Ooooooh
The Buggles, Video Killed the Radio Star
and some Pat Benatar
The Police hit, "Roxanne"
Ooooh
Did Live Aid
And he unmasked KISS
He's an MTV VJ
The first to say "Hello"
Unmasked KISS
But a heart attack
He rests in peace
JJ passed away
Poor MTV
He's the VJ who exposed KISS
Their faces clean
Had a heart attack
He rests in peace
He rests in peace
Ooooooh
JJ Jackson

I remeber JJ and early MTV, I can't believe there are not more comments. VJ's were pioneers in those days.
I remember when these newfangled "videos" were just promotional clips for songs and worth nothing except as filler between Home Box Office programs. I remember U-matic 3/4 inch format "VTRs". I even remember open-reel videotape. And I remember early MTV and JJ Jackson, and commenting "I thought there were only five Jacksons." Damn, those TVs just don't warm up a room like they used to...
I don't know who you're talking about, but I keep thinking of Janet Jackson...
As much as I hate MTV, this is very sad.
