I used to go to church....that was before my luck got worse
Now Sunday morning I sleep til' 10.....
I haven't gone since who knows when....

I used to believe in Christ; I used to think he was pretty nice.
I'd join the congregation and sing, give praise to Christ the King

Once the Bible was the key, then His hand came down on me
I discovered my luck was toast, and now religion is just a joke....

I hear Episcopal bells a-ringing;
Roman Catholic choirs singing....
Believed that God was my sword and shield;
Now he's dumped me in a mine field
For some reason I can't explain
It seems like Jesus enjoys my pain
And now my luck gets worse, that is when you hear me curse....

I went to a Catholic school....
Now I feel just like a fool...
Shattered dreams and beaten like a drum
I can't believe what I've become
