All too often, a celebrity gets it into their head that now they've reach some margin of fame via a movie or sports, they can also sing! This usually turns out much worse than when singers try to act.
Name | Notable Song Credits | Comments & Submittor Name
Larry Bagby III | Counting My Lucky Stars | The gay football player from Buffy turned out to be... a country singer. - Mitchell
Larry Hagman | My Favorite Sins, Ballad of a Good Luck Charm | He recorded these songs while he was playing J.R. Ewing on "Dallas". - Lance Crackers
Laura Marano | Words | Practically every female starlet on The Disney Channel has an additional musical career, but before joining the cast of Austin & Ally, Miss Marano co-wrote some songs with Peter Waldman, and appeared in one music video for the song "Words," where the boyfriend looked a lot like her current co-star Ross Lynch. Her voice is kind of weak in this one, but the song is still catchy, and from her performance in the A&A episode "Deejays & Demos," it's clear she's not an entirely incompetent singer. - The Skuz
Lee Majors | The Unknown Stuntman | His song was the theme from his TV show "The Fall Guy". - Opie M.
Leighton Meester | Somebody to Love, Good Girls Go Bad | Her debut album is scheduled to come out in 2011. She guested on Cobra Starship's big hit "Good Girls Go Bad." - dxman
Leonard Nimoy | Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, Highly Illogical | Atrocious! Nimoy's sings in a dreadful monotone. He was actually funnier when playing off his "Mr. Spock" character, than when he was doing serious music. - Psycho Librarian
Lindsay Lohan | Rumours, Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father) | Like Hillary Duff, who are both young starlets when they were kids, and then everything else just grew from their acting careers. She is nowhere near as successful singing as she was being an actress, but she did find more success from overseas sales and the dance charts. - Rocky Mak
Lindsay Price | Forever Long Friend, Breakin' My Heart, Someone Like Me | Inbetween television roles, she released a five song EP, songs of which appeared in a show she appeared on at the time, ABC-TV's "Wildfire". As of 2008 she is one of the stars in the ABC show "Lipstick Jungle" - John Book
Lisa Kudrow | Smelly Cat | This song which was on 'Friends' (Smelly Cat) was also performed by Chrissie Hynde and Chris Issak as well. - Paul Warren
Lisa Marie Presley | Lights Out, Idiot, Daddy Don't Cry | great voice and awesome singer in her own right, sounds a lot like her dad. - katie
Lisa Rinna | Fewer than she should be singing | Lisa Rinna, as a cast member of "Days Of Our Lives," initially acted out "Billie" Reed as an aspiring singer whose substance-abuse issues interfered with her career aspirations. More recently, she was one of the contestants on "Sing Your Face Off," an American attempt to bring the "Your Face Sounds Familiar" concept to the United States that, unfortunately, failed--Rinna herself ultimately lost out to Mouse-That-Bored RINGER China Anne McClain, a CLEAR indication of the FIX having evilly been IN from the FIRST!!! - Parker Gabriel
Lorne Greene | Ringo | Lorne was a very competent singer although his best known recording is all spoken word with musical accompanment. Lorne is best known as Ben Cartwright of Bonanza and also starred in the original series of Battlestar Galactica - Bradley Olson
Lucie Arnaz | El Cumbanchero | Lucie is not just an actress; she is also a singer and performs jazz and Latin-style songs. She also got to perform with her brother Desi Jr and their parents Desi Arnaz Sr and Lucille Ball. Lucie is also an occasional percussionist; she sometimes plays the drum while singing. - Brionna Secret
Lucille Ball | We Need a Little Christmas | Lucille Ball played Mame in the movie version...she's no Angela Lansbury. - Paul Warren
Lucy Lawless | Several albums she has released | Though "Celebrity Duets" was not QUITE successful enough to merit another go-around, it did revive the musical career of Lucille Frances Ryan-Lawless, better known for the title role of "Xena, Warrior Princess." For she made it all the way to the last round, BARELY losing out to Alfonso Ribeiro, the former "Tap-Dance Kid" of Broadway. And her materiel is good enough for her to merit the nickname "Flawless Diva." Indeed, she actually sang in some installments of "Xena, Warrior Princess!" For in addition to contributing the dirge "Burial" to the show's soundtrack, she was one of the cast members, in the installments "The Bitter Suite" and "Lyre, Lyre, Heart's On Fire," who did their own singing. Members of this site should check her out sometime! She is THAT good. - Parker Gabriel
Lynda Carter | Toto, All Night Song, Take Me To The River, Crazy Little Thing Called Love | She did mostly cover tunes, but co-wrote three songs. - Sheila Oh |
