The Lyrics
This is my brief history of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a gift to the American people in March 2010 that keeps on giving ... to Republicans, who all voted against it. I used English Version 1 from TOS as a template, but swapped the middle line pairs of Stanzas 1 and 2 before matching their rhymes.
Obamacare lacked votes to spare
In government's four [1] branches.
Passed by Dem's true in dark of night;
In spite, declined assists [2] from Right.
Obama signed bill eagerly;
John Roberts barred cure chances. [3]
Obamacare did many scare,
Though Washing-ton Post lov-ed.
On golf-course green did waivers flow
To union boss, friend CEO.
Obama there did donors spare;
Yet from health plans most shov-ed!
O next decrees faux [4] subsidies
For well-paid fed'ral employees;
Then hopes that government will be
The way to buoyant health for free.
So wish that he would listen, see,
Speak truth on screen [5] and reach me.
