"We Dish You a Fiscal Cliff Mess"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Must be the Christmas season - time for some traditional Christmas songs - as sung by the Washington choir.
(The Pols sing)

We dish you a fiscal cliff mess
We fish for a wistful tiff fest
We squish you in blissful distress
Have a crappy Bronx cheer

Reid, Biden, Obama, Boehner, we spin
Our fighting brings cliff mess
And a crappy, blue year

(The Public sings back)

You string us, no sprig is blooming
You sing but no cuts are looming
You sling us a swig of fuming
And a snappy poo sneer

You go slow, we are a bit glum
You all crow until we sit numb
We now owe a greater debt sum
I drink rum and beer

(Pols again)

We dish you a fiscal cliff mess
We fish for a wistful tiff fest
We squish you in blissful distress
Have a crappy, blue year

Terrific title, and an amazing use of nouns and adjectives... good to see ya 'round the neighborhood, again

Like so much of what happens in Washington, DC, the fiscal cliff is bad for the country, but good for paroday writers. And this take on it is excellent!

Would that all the legislative lemmings would jump en masse.

555! Another thrilling episode of fiscal brinkmanship in the offing! Maybe the govt should start playing the Powerball lottery...oh, wait, the jackpot's too low to even make a dent.

And welcome back! Do you plan to stay a while, or is this just one of those pop-in-and-outs?

Thanks AFW,John, John,Rob, Leough, Dave and Rick.. Thanks to AFW and Leough for noting I used to be here more. I don't know if I have more in me; they pop up when they pop up, but I do visit the site to sample all the other great writers. Dave, it is not good cheer for the New Year, but I get the bad feeling the Pols are just playing a game.

Inspired word play, and a tough tongue twister and a half. One of the best of the day.

Loved the title. I actually glanced at this a couple of days ago, and was singing the title off and on all day at work today.
