The Lyrics

Discovery Channel show went dangerously awry in Dublin, Calif., according to CBS, San Francisco. A crew was filming "The Mybuster's" program at the Alameda County bomb range about 25 miles north of San Jose, sheriff's Sgt. J.D. Nelson said. The experiment involved a cannon built for the program about two years ago, and which the show says it has used at least three times before, Nelson said. This time, the cannonball was supposed to go through several barrels of water and a cinder block wall before striking the hills of the bomb range. Uh oh! The munition missed the water, careened off a hill, went through a house, and struck a van.
Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb
It was Mythbuster's folly
Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb
Glad they don't shoot a volley..
Smashed in a door and down a hall
And then crashed out a bedroom wall
Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb
Still struck a van, by golly!

Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb
Was aimed at blocks of cinder
Oh, cannon bomb, it broke the calm
Put hole in that van's winder
That California cable show,
Shot off their cannon, doncha' know
Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb
A quiet town you hinder

Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb
Should not have gone that far, but
Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb
They say, Insured, they are, but..
It could have wounded somebod-y
Or even started World War III,
Oh, cannon bomb, oh cannon bomb,
I gueth it mythed it'th target..

I gueth it mythed it'th target

*gasp* Adam and Jamie, you naughty, naughty boys! If you can't play with your toys responsibly, we're going to have to take them away - now go to your rooms and think about what you've done!
Brilliantly funny - I particularly like the "I gueth it mythed ith target" lines. A worthy 555-er.

Perfect title pun and versification. They shot their cannon "fodder" than they'd planned. "I shot an arrow in the air. It fell to earth I know not where."

I think of this every New Year's Eve when all the nuts around here take their guns out and shoot them in the air.

Oh yes you did go there. Excellent work - I did find myself singing "cannonball" instead of "cannon bomb" in my head as I followed along. But in any case, this parody is da bomb.
