Parody Song Title:

"Tripped a Spreng Mine!"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

This is about tripping a German Sprengmine SMi 44 which had a line connected to an igniter. When someone tripped the line the SMi 44 popped up to waist height and exploded, sending schrapnel everywhere! A vicious little weapon, it was encountered mostly in the West after D-Day. It is in the movie "Saving Private Ryan"...
D-Day is over
France to explore
Germans angry
Much more than before

Something up ahead
The German line
Oops… hit a wire
Tripped a Spreng Mine!

Too hard to beat it
There’s no cover
Pops up… blows up
Now blood’s all over

Should have been wiser
Germans, clever
Hit in my legs
Arteries severed!

D-Day is over
France to explore
Germans angry
Much more than before

Something up ahead
The German line
Oops… hit a wire
Tripped a Spreng Mine!

Spreng Mine
Spreng Mine
Spreng Mine
Takes lives…
