"SaMaKa the Fire Dragon"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

The SaMaKa (Salvenmachinenkanonen) was the Luftwaffe's highest ROF flak gun which was a multi-gun system of 8x 7.92mm MG-81s that fired 1,600 rpm each giving the "Fire Dragon" (Feuerdrache) a total of 12,800 rpm to defend LW bases, ususally ones with Me-262 jets. The Fw-190D-9 Doras would try to fight off the Spits, Stangs, T-bolts, and Typhoons... but if the enemy drew closer then it faced a wall of fire from the SaMaKa!!!
SaMaKa, the fire dragon fought the enemy
And defended the jets from all the rest in a land called Germany
All the Flak gunners thought the multi-gun SaMaKa was tough,
Shot down Spits and Stangs, many planes, and yet that wasn’t enough

Oh yes,
SaMaKa, the fire dragon fought the enemy
And defended the jets from all the rest in a land called Germany
SaMaKa, the fire dragon fought the enemy
And defended the jets from all the rest in a land called Germany

Together with the Doras, after dogfights did entail,
The gunners kept a lookout safely behind SaMaKa’s metal shield,
Noble novices and aces would tremble the nearer they came,
Facing a barrage of 12,800 rpm when SaMaKa roared with heavy flame

Oh yes,
SaMaKa, the fire dragon fought the enemy
And defended the jets from all the rest in a land called Germany
SaMaKa, the fire dragon fought the enemy
And defended the jets from all the rest in a land called Germany

Hitler didn’t live forever and neither his fancy guns
Luftwaffe bases and Dora aces were eventually overrun
One day in May it happened, Hitler was no more
And SaMaKa the fire dragon, it ceased its mighty roar!

Every day a new German weapon. When I think of the cost of 7.92x57mm I recall the old story of the King of Belgium, who upon witnessing a demonstration of Maxim's gun, is said to have lamented "This gun would bankrupt my poor kingdom in an hour".

Not exactly true Patrick. Out of 460 parodies only 52 deal with any specific German weapon from any time period. There are more songs on Allied aircraft than German weapons and even all the German material is not a majority of the 460 parodies. Same for SJH's IPASOY. I have around 150 to JAB's nearly 400 and they account for only 33% of my songs leaving 67% other!!! I get the stereotype, but it is inaccurate when you do the numbers...

Wow! look at all the guns on that thing! I don't know my calibers, but I'd say that one was pretty big, oh and sorry I was not here yesterday, went on another trip with the developmentally handicapped again that day. Great parody! 555! :-)

Basically WCJ, the SaMaKa is a multi-barrel system of 8x 7.92mm MG-81s that EACH fire 1,600 rpm!!! This gives the SaMaKa a total firepower ROF of 12,800 rpm!!! More than any modern revolver cannon and any other cannons except for the caseless Metalstorm weapons which are not operational. One Metalstorm MG with multi-barrels hit 1 million rpm!!! The Australians were trying to sell the guns to the US Navy for use against low-flying aircraft and missiles (replacing the Phalanx Guns) but no luck. German Navy uses 4x MG-3s in Dragon configuration to fire 5,400 rpm...

Not be critical or stereotypical. The planes and weapons are what I tune in for. Each day I know something more.

NP Patrick- I can sustain those forever!!! I am known for my knowledge on all forms of weapon systems on air, land, and sea... but also many forms of obscure knowledge too.
