The Lyrics

The White House has announced that Social Secretary Desiree Rogers will not have to testify to Congress about "Crashergate." Robert Gibbs has claimed executive privilege (!) for Ms. Rogers. Like so many campaign promises, pledges of an open transparent administration now die a sad and lonely death. ;D

Desiree won't have to tell about the deception,
How Silahis could crash the White House reception.
She's "executive priv-leged" and won't have to tell you
All the details behind this unseemly snafu.
Desiree won't have to say how the play turned out this way.
She's O.'s Social Sec, he'll make it go away!

She was at the big affair, not out doing her jobs
But she won't have to talk to Congressional snobs.
Open Government? Come on! Not this situaton!
O. just probes "crimes" in the Bush administration.
Must not do! We must be true! Not for us, it's just for you!
O. has a new standard - in fact, he has two!

He says Desiree my gal, no need to be nervous.
We'll drop all of the blame on the Secret Service.
But the folks who he has trashed with this shucking and jive
Are the same team whose job is to keep him alive!
It's no fuss, so do not cuss. They are them and we are us!
We'll just throw our protectors under the bus!

Any Secret Service agent would gladly take a bullet for the President, but should they be required to take slander? ;D
