Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

you get it.
Teens at hand
I’m a strangler in paradise
All froth in their underpants
A stranger dark paradigm
Have my plans set and primed
There’s some danger in paradise
Mortal be paralyzed
This strangle might hurt

I saw her face
And I descended
Out of a darkened place
Restrict her air
I’ll leave no trace
Her life suspended
Where did she go?
Can’t find her anywhere
Won’t you answer this hellish prayer?
Of a strangler in paradise
I’ll send thee to dark despair
From all that I hunger for
Stranglers want more

I’ve found my place
And I’ll defend it
Darker than normal base
My daily fare
Cross through my space
That’d be splendid
And off I go
It’s ‘bout more I can bear
Won’t you answer this fiendish prayer?
Of a strangler in paradise
All youths in my path beware
From all that I hunger for
I open up my strangler arms
Even stranglers get terrified
And tell me, that you can’t breathe
Strangle some more!

I love the dark side, and the strangler concept is good, but it seems strained and not sufficiently relieved by humor.

I agree with Vincent Price up there that this one was really lacking in any and all humor. I think that strangler is a good sub for stranger but you could of done something funnier with this I'm assuming because this was just dark it was the snuff film of song parodies.

I think in my head, the contrast of the tone of the OS and the spoof's content was funny enough for me. Just imagining a a Mike Myers type slasher singing this out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by teens for him to kill. That darkness would be his paradise and I didn't want to lighten too much because it thought it would lose something.

I'm all choked up.

Way dark, man...like a death metal tune, or one of Scott Walker's scary, atonal pieces (not the WI governor, check him out on YouTube if you can). I certainly can't rate this high as far as Funny.

(Artistry) While I can understand the appeal of contrasting parody tone and OS genre, it can't be the only thing going for it (I learned that back in the NIN round). I don't know how this could be funnier...maybe if the killer was a Freddy Krueger-esque wisecracker, dishing out horrible strangling puns, that might've worked. Also, a tad too much OS-lifting for my tastes. So yeah, definitely not one of your best, sorry to say.

Is it just me, but while listening to the OS (with the link provided), it kinda jumped to the end? I dunno, but either way, I think the contrast of jazzy OS and the slasher motif was pretty funny combo. Could have had a few more laugh out loud moments...but other than that, nice job.

The Boston Strangler isn't going to be happy now that he has a possible rival.
