The Lyrics

The Flying Wallendas, may have been the most famous high wire family act of the twentieth century. They performed the dangerous, no net, seven-person pyramid. A fall in Detroit, in 1962, killed two family members, and paralyzed another. The patriarch, Karl Wallenda, died in l978, while performing alone in San Juan, Puerto Rico. As a tribute, the sixth generation of the family returned to Detroit in l998, and once more performed the pyramid, this time successfully.
Oh, they were The Great Wallendas, (Oh,oh)
A family of high wire fame
Perform they did, in a pyramid
With no net, a dangerous game

Billed as The Flying Wallendas, (Oh,oh)
A troup that has known tragedies
Brave circus flyers, they would walk high wires
And hold balance poles, in the breeze

Two die in Detroit, nineteen sixty two,
Two die, but inside, circus pride will not hide...

Oh yes, They were Great Wallendas, (Oh, oh)
Their high flying skill takes the crown
The show goes on,but then in San Juan
The patriarch, Karl tumbles down...
He dies his own way, on the ground..

Two die in Detroit, nineteen sixty two,
Two die, but inside, circus pride will not hide...

Oh yes, They were Great Wallendas, (Oh, oh)
Their high flying skill takes the crown
The show goes on, but then in San Juan
The patriarch, Karl tumbles down...
To die his own way, on the ground..
Oh, they were The Great Wallendas....

Fives and, unlike Frankie Avalon, they work well without Annette!

Rick, you're really walking a thin line with that joke.
