Twenty eight days to election day...and the worst part is about to begin. We'll soon be assaulted with an endless parade of automated messages from candidates...the dreaded robo-calls. The worst part is that, even though you can hang up, the message continues to play in its entirety. They are very effective where I'm concerned...when I receive a robo-call, I immediately make up my mind to vote for the other candidate! ;D
Robo-calls - robo-calls,
Each October they get me.
Candidates - think they're great.
My! How they do upset me!
They never cease - they disturb my peace,
No release - I'm knowing.
Robo-calls - wreck my balls.
This whole month will be blowing.
Robo-calls - up the walls
These damn things sure will drive me.
Four more weeks - of these freaks,
They will shuck me and jive me..
Can't cut and run - they play 'til they're done.
It's no fun - condition.
Trash that's pure - they'll ensure
I'll vote for opposition.
Like the original song, the simplicity is compelling. Also, have you ever noticed that Richard Rodgers was as much a master of 3/4 time as Johann Strauss II? ;D

Sarah Palin called me months ago. I used to get calls from Wayne Lapierre all the time. I wish Obama would call me. I'd give him a piece of my mind to replace the part of his he is missing. Every candidate is calling his/her opponent a crook, a fraud, and a tool of Obamapelosi. Listen now, this is the last time they will be telling the truth.
Those automated robo-calls really get on my nerves as well! I just hang up on them. Anyways, they will never hear from me again, that's for sure! 555's for this robo-parody!

What's this "soon to be" stuff? I've been getting them for several weeks already. .... Fortunately, in this state, if you hang up, they're not allowed to keep calling. Need to work for that law in yours.
I'd agree with your last line, but with all due respect to TJC (i. e., tons ;), the opposition usually calls, too. ... :-( So, back to voting on merit (i. e., for the lesser of two evils).
