It's been a year since the sudden shocking departure of Robert Arndt, one of the most unique people I've ever encountered on the Internet. He parodied this particular OS 825 times in just seven years. That number, by itself, would have made him the among the Top 5 authors in that same time period. So, it seems logical to commemorate him with the same song

MI -- Myocardial infarction; heart attack. I'm speculating here, but the fact that he suffered from advanced diabetes coupled by the suddeness of his demise (he posted a comment on August 11 and was gone the next day) strongly suggest this. Diabetics are highly susceptible to heart attacks

More IPASOY numbers crunching: Rob Arndt not only did 825 IPASOYs in 7 years, he did 565 episodes of IPASOY (have you deciphered the acronym yet. And in one spate of what can only be descibed as a form of IPASOY-chosis, he did 125 of them in 3 months. What motivated all this was a game of IPASOY-dic one-upmanship between RA and JAB (John Barry) These two did almost a 1000 of these parodies in a two year period (2011-2012)
You may well ask WhATA (Why All The Acronyms?) It's because Rob had an absolute MFA (Mania For Acronyms) He would make anything and everything an acronym. He even acronymatized MY screen name "Callmelennie" into CML. And I looked at it and said WTF! (What Totalicious Fun!) ..... And that's why I now go by CML .... (honest)
I miss the old days, and Robert Arndt. I have a few heart issues myself, so I could sympathize with his plight. Just looking at today's entries, and not a single familiar name or OS. Michael Pacholek still shows up from time to time. Been a while since I saw anything by John Barry or Susanna Viljannen. Though I sometimes see comments by her on QuizzClub. Anyone know what happened to Leough (Leo Keough)? How did you learn about Rob's death? When Tommy Turtle (Steven L Victor) passed away, a friend of his sent me an email. I was never in contact with Rob or his family outside of the site. He was quite knowledgeable and informative. I'm glad I did a couple tributes while he was still alive. I've got a couple ideas for parodies, but I don't seem to be able to find the energy to pursue them. The anniversary of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is coming up in November. I missed it last year, and if I hope to have something ready, I'd better start soon.
An announcement of Rob's demise from his brother, Roger Arndt, showed up on Amiright's front page. When you clicked onto Amiright, it was the first thing you saw .... The news popped about 2 weeks after Rob's last post. I knew after about a week of no Rob that something was very wrong, but I was shocked to hear that he died a mere two days after his last post .... Roger didn't say how Rob died, but heart attack is most likely cause for such a sudden passing, given Rob was a long time diabetic
I didn't know... R.I.P.
